what I read from the first 10 pages of The things they carried was that the First lieutenant Jimmy Cross was in love with a girl named Martha who he wants to think she loves him but part of him thinks that she doesn't. He also wants to believe that she's a virgin but I highly doubt it because it also says that she's had a couple of boyfriends before. than he has his platoon of about 17 men and they used to draw sticks wit numbers between 1-17 and whoever got 17 was supposed crawl through the tunnel with a flashlight, and the lieutenants .45-caliber pistol. the rest would stay outside and act as security.
What does it mean to "step over the line"? (If this phrase isn't familiar to you, look it up.) How do we know where the line is? Is it different for different people or different situations? What effect does stepping over the line have on conversations and relationships? What I think it means to "step over the line" is to break the rules. I don't think we know where the line is so we wouldn't know if its different for different people. maybe stepping over the line could break up your relationship in some way.
Why is it legal for businesses to put up all sorts of ugly signs, but graffiti is illegal? this is simple it is legal for businesses to put up signs because that's their property but most graffiti is done on other peoples property.
I'm interested in your thoughts on this. How are your teachers communicating with you now? What can we do better?
